Ruski

Ruski: Hello!

My name is Ruski. My 'Guardian' Stan is away for some outing, so today I'll take over a while to blog on his behalf. :)

Errm... I'm a very notty dog. I love to run around grabbing attention. That's the reason why there's a few pictures of me in this post cos I run around too fast that it blurs out the camera.
I hope that my English is stil comprehensable and hope the readers out there understands me. After all I'm just a dog. Dogs aren't suppose to write good English.

Ruski: I'm posing for the camera.

Ruski: My bunny ears pointing out.

Roll around.

Nothing much to write about. Seriously, all I do all day is Run around, eat, shit, sleep, run around, eat, shit, sleep, run around, eat shit, sleep, sleep again, shit, pee, shit, run around. And finally sleep. Then repeat for the same things the next day. Sigh.

Ruski: Hmmm...

Ruski:Zzz... Comfortable...

Ruski: Bye bye. Seeya around.

Yellow 10

Stan, Sue Yin, Alexander, Eng Siong.

A few weeks ago, after grueling hours of OC camp and work, I was assigned to the group Yellow 10. Initially i wanted to be in Red Group, because when i was in Alpha i was in Green, then a year later i was a Green Mobile OC(G3), and the year after that i was a Green Mobile OC(G4) again.
During 2006 I was banned from being an OC because of organizing a prom which was not inline with STAD guidelines. 2007 I was a Yellow Mobile OC(Y7).
This year i wanted to stop OC for good, so i wanted Red. You know, just like the traffic lights, Green-Green-Green-Yellow-Red. So it's almost like symbolic.

Despite the sudden changes I enjoyed my time in Yellow and my group (Y10).
There I met:

Yellow 10 Members.

Wan Hwa, Ching Peng, Stan and Christina.

38 vs 59

38:Key Features & Benefits

  • Ideal for first-time contact lens wearers

  • High-performance, ultra-thin design

  • Time-tested, deposit-resistant material for excellent comfort

59:Key Features & Benefits

  • Time-tested, deposit resistant material for excellent comfort

  • Easy handling

Conclusion: I've tried both simultaneously on both eyes. In terms of performance and prolong usage, 59 fair better than 38. On the other hand, in terms of easier application 38 shows greater comparison to 59.

Contemplation

"Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness and fears. You will find things are actually not as difficult as you think."

Sometimes we spend time in asking who is responsible or whom to blame, whether in a relationship,in a job or with the people we know. By this way we miss out some warmth in human relationship.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Let's start doing something about it today.

All Geared up!

Today went for a movie with Lex. When we reached the cinema entrance, we saw that there's not much movies to watch today. Initially we intended to watch Kungfu Panda. But that movie won't reach the silver screens until mid June. So we watched:

The Superhero Movie. A very hilarious movie.

The movie is mostly based on the parody of Spiderman. Go watch it!
Pro: Very funy and witty.
Con: Very short movie. Which is worth it cos i only paid Rm6 to watch the movie.

The day before i checked my wardrobe and decided that i have not enough formal shirts. Since some of the formal shirts are short-sleeved. And i don't want to wear short-sleeved formals for Orientation.
So i bought this:

RM54.50 An okay buy.

Bought it at Padini Concept Store in Dataran Pahlawan. Ironically I was just at the store 2 days ago, and i didn't thought of buying anything. So with that added to my collection, I'm ready for Orientation!

P/S: I still have to get my hair cut.

Menara Taming Sari

Last weekend, me and some friends stopped by the famed Taming Sari Tower(Menara Taming Sari). Well it's name is not so famous, cos most people refer it as "Nehh... that rotating tower near Dataran Pahlawan."

Taming Sari Tower.

It's called Taming Sari after the Keris wielded by Hang Tuah. Legend has it that Hang Tuah fought a warrior from Majapahit called Taming Sari. After winning the fight, the keris that Taming Sari possess is given to Hang Tuah; the keris has the same name as it's original owner.

Hmmm... It does look like a Keris.

The entrance fee is:
Adult: RM20
Children:RM10

When you get 10 students with student IDs, you have a special students' rate of RM10 per person.

In comparison,
Eye of Malaysia: RM15 (with fireworks display)
Eye of Melaka: RM5 (goes 3 rounds)

After considerations, we didn't went up the tower. So not worth it! Ironically, we saw many people queuing up for tickets.

Note: The ride lasts about 8mins.

Empty

I lay awake for 2 hours or maybe more, on my bed trying to sleep. I can't.
Thoughts just keep flowing through my head. Thinking about the past, present and future.
Just laying there until i see the tinge of daybreak dawning upon my window.

Questions, uncertainty, doubts filled my mind.
If i could alter the past. I guess I won't be in this situation now.
What would happen to me now, if all things went well.

I felt the lost of words.
I tried praying and meditating, it didn't worked.
I feel hollow inside and empty within.

Guess I'll play a round of DotA to tire myself to sleep.
Yes, Stan plays DotA. So typical of teenage boy right.
Stan becomes typical.

I need a beacon of light to get me out of this crisis...

Holiday resolution list

Since it's the holidays, I shall make a resolution to utilize my time.

It's been a long time since I have such free time.

The resolution list:

1. I'll brush up on my singing, today alone I have been downloading songs from Chris Daughtry 's and 张栋梁's album.

2. Manage my club to its former glory. So much is not done in the club in the past few months. With the new intake and the club registration day coming in a few weeks,I better prep up with the other committees to make the club a happening and productive club.

3. Have more rest. During the past few weeks, I've been studying into the wee hours of the night because of exams. It’s time to catch up with sleep. Zzz...

4. Pray more. Strengthen my spiritual faith.

5. Clean house. With those morons out of my house, I can now clean my house properly without their dumb stuff and “trophies” in the way. Update: House cleaned.

6. Expand my network. It has suffered a major setback. It’s high time do some networking and go out to make new friends and strengthen old ones.

Advertlets Vs. Nuffnang

I joined Nuffnang on April 2007
I joined Advertlets on May 2008

Both of which i earn the same amount: RM*.**

Advertlets used 1 month to generate that amount.
Nuffnang used 14 months to generate that amount.

It's true that online Blog Advertising does earn money, but it's not for everyone.
Blog Advertising agencies opt to target high traffic users since advertisers choose those bloggers with high traffic hits.

And since some low traffic users posts these Ads on their blog, it's like these Advertising agencies are using your service, your readership and your network to advertise but not paying you in return. Although the user did in the first place consent to the agreement of their policy.
Though advertising agencies may differ in their paying scheme but the reality of not getting paid for having low traffic is always there.

Just my two cents.

I've finished my exams

Yay!

I'm aiming to blog around 20 more entries this holiday to make the grand total of 200 posts on this blog. I call it 'The 200 Entries Milestone'. Speaking of which if i achieve it, it's an average of 4.88 entries a month.

I've started blogging since January 2005. Now is May 2008. It's been a long 3 years and 5 months since i started finding-tryst. My foundation course group mates used to urge me to blog but i didn't venture into the blogosphere until 2005. I remembered that i wanted to start blogging at the year 2004, but at that time i was quite caught up with organizing events and dancing.

At that time, we used to do dance practice from 9pm-330am in campus for an upcoming event, and been doing that for weeks. Right after the performance night, i just felt an empty void. It's just like all the fast paced world of organizing and dance just instantly stopped. It was then i ventured into blogosphere...

Thinking back to those days and where I am now, i saw many things that the blogosphere has to offer. It isn't like today's blogosphere, where it's all about the cash and the bling. People actually wrote meaningful things even without pictures. Today,it's all Ads to cash in their accounts and no content. Boo!

From those years back,
I've seen Lengmou became Nuffnang.
I've seen Xiaxue, from a whiny bitch became a tv star, still a bitch though.
I've seen Kennysia, from a fat wimp became a star.

Kenny started blogging on January 2005
Stan started blogging on January 2005
See the relation? If only i held onto blogging more or posted pictures of me resembling Xiaxue, i would have became a st..(ahem).

Haha.

Sadly,
All my friends that blogged in those days have stopped blogging.

Shoppping Spree

I went shopping. It came about a whopping amount. Just little bits of things for that price.
Actually i kinda expected it.

It isn't your type of shopping spree, it's a type of shopping that geeky-nerdy engineering students like me do.

Wahlao...

Sigh.

The total amount is: RM 198.30!!!

After long hours of cracking my mind on this project for Embedded System Design, I finally came out with the results.

Behold my Digital Thermostat.

The Digital Thermostat in this project uses the microcontroller PIC16F84.This circuit can detect temperature and display the temperature on a LCD display.

The hardware consisted of a Microchip PIC16F84 microcontroller, a Dallas DS1621 temperature sensor, a Dallas DS1307 real-time clock, a Linear LT1173 switched mode voltage regulator and a 16X2 LCD display.

The software was written in Assembly language using a MPLAB assembler and the program implements a Digital Thermostat.
